We are what is called hobby breeders
or show breeders in the dog fancy. As breeders we know
it is our responsibility to maintain the breed to it’s
standards and characteristics to the best of our ability.
Health and quality are tantamount to us. All of our
breedings are planned well in advance considering both
phenotype and genotype.
We plan our breedings to produce our next show dogs
mainly. However, it is not possible to keep them all,
unfortunately. Therefore we do selective pre-screening
of potential buyers for the remainder of our pups. Matching
each pup with the best possible home is just as important
to us as the breeding itself. To be considered for our
waiting list, please fill out the apropriate application
below (for Pet or for Show) and return it to us electronically
(email it back to betzbulldogs@msn.com).

All of our pups are hand raised personally by us. We
do not allow a puppy to leave our home until they are
at least twelve (12) weeks of age. This is for several
reasons. First, we continually evaluate the health of
each pup because we would not like to send an unhealthy
pup home with anyone. Second, during this time we are
giving several rounds of vaccinations, and de-worming.
We also micro chip each and every puppy before it leaves
our home. Third and very important, a pup needs to be
with it’s littermates and older dogs from six
to twelve weeks of age to get proper dog socialization
skills. It has been proven that a pup taken away before
twelve weeks of age becomes a very mouthy puppy with
behavior issues. A lot of people tell us they want a
pup as young as possible so the pup will bond to them.
This just is not true. A puppy does not bond with humans
at this age, it just learns how to be scared. Fourth,
it gives us more time to balance out the pup’s
diet from a special mix puppy-gruel to moistened puppy
food that is much easier for the buyer to handle.
