Bubbles is a Ch Little Ponds Chief daughter. Chief is a Hall of Fame stud dog, who has sired 120+ champions. Bubbles has 4 full brothers who are champions and best of breed winners, one of whom is also a multiple Group placing and Group winning dog.

Bubbles is a special girl in this household. She is the matriarch of our Bulldog family, and let’s everybody know she is. One look from her and her offspring quickly quits whatever behavior merited the look to begin with. She never has to assert herself further than this. She has provided us with thirteen beautiful, strong, and healthy pups. She is retired from our breeding program now with her last litter on the ground, but is in no way diminished in value to us.

We had started showing her in her younger days, and this beautifully typey girl did well in the placings. However, she did not enjoy showing in the ring at all. Bubbles would flatten her ears back and drag her nose on the ground, what we call Hoovering. So we decided to go ahead and start breeding her. We were very anxious to see the quality of pups she would produce for us. It paid off!

Bubbles is our oldest son’s, Josh, special friend. Since the day we got her from Mike and Mary Brunk the two of them have had a special bond with each other. Josh loves sitting peacefully with Bubbles with his arms around her. They also love to play fetch and tug of war together. At times Bubbles will follow Josh and grumble at him if he gets too rowdy, the same way she would with a pup.

Bubbles is a talker. She talks to us all of the time, in fact. She grumbles, groans, and grunts. Especially when you talk to her directly. The sounds she makes we call snorkeling for a lack of a better term. It is hilarious! You can carry on quite a conversation with her sometimes when she is in the mood to talk.

This girl also thinks she is a sun goddess. Bubbles has a favorite spot in the yard, that is just hers, where she will lay on her back to get a tan on her tummy. Of course, when it is hot outside her time “catching some rays” is limited by us. Then she grumbles and scolds us for making her come inside. She loves sunshine! Maybe it’s because she was born on the west coast and is a California Girl at heart.
